TM-1100 REED DIRECT TAPPING MACHINE
The REED TM1100 tapping machine is used to drill and tap water mains while they are under pressure, then install 3/4" or 1" corporation stops in a 2 step process. Anodized and epoxy painted aluminum frames provide a lightweight yet sturdy machine for tough in-the-ditch applications. The REED TM1000 machine uses parts that are interchangeable with MuellerŽ, FootageŽ and Talbot/SalserŽ drill taps and MuellerŽ saddles and gaskets.
Reed's Tapping Machine is a better value than the competition. Reed's machine ships with the necessary parts including the corporation insertion tools. Plus, by ordering the saddles and drill taps separately you only need to purchase the right sizes of saddles and taps for the job. Additionally the Tapping Machine can be converted to a drilling machine for up to 2" saddle taps, thus saving money over the purchase of a separate machine.
How a Tapping Machine works:
|
1. The machine is chained to the pipe and the combination tap & drill cuts and threads the hole.
2.Without changing the position of the machine the tapping bit is replaced with the corporation stop and it is threaded into the hole that was made in step 1
3. The machine is removed from the pipe and the corporation stop is ready for tubing attachment.
4. The tubing is attached to the corporation stop and the stop can now be opened providing pressure.
