Shows
you the Way! -LEFT/RIGHT Guidance and Audible Tone: the LCD centerline
needle guides you to your target conductor. A
needle moving to the right (audible steady tone) guides you to the right.
Moving left (broken, pulsing tone) tells you to move left. When the needle
goes to the center of the meter and all sound stops you are then precisely over
your target NO MANUAL ADJUSTMENTS-FULLY AUTOMATIC; Automatic
gain control compensates for changes in conductor depth and peaking of signal
over distance and provides you with just the right amount of power. No
manual adjustment is needed. SIGNAL STRENGTH INDICATOR: a 3
digit signal strength reading gives the operator additional guidance and useful
information. The higher the number the closer to the center of your
target. The strength indicator also tells the operator that his
transmitter should be moved closer leading to better accuracy and eliminating
ghost readings from too weak a signal. DETERMINES DEPTH: Quick
and easy Push Button Depth...Hold the locator directly over the target and push
the button. The depth displays in inches on the LCD screen.
Which one is right for you? 810 or
850??
810 If you locate gasketed or insulated GAS or WATER
PIPE or do a lot of Inductive locating, the high radio frequency 810 Model is
your choice. The 83kHz frequency of the 810 jumps insulators and poor electrical
joints often found in water and gas distribution systems. The 'floodlight'
quality of high radio signal enables the 810 to get its signal into the
conductor when direct hook up is not available. The 810 also has a variety
of external transmitters that can be used to locate non-conductive (plastic)
sewer, drainage or electrical conduits.
850 If you locate continuous cables and
direct connection is commonly available then the Low Radio frequency 850 Model
is the right choice. The low audio 9.8kHz of the Model 850 "hugs" the
conductor and does not bleed-off onto adjacent utilities in your locate area. If
direct transmitter connection is available, the 850 is an excellent instrument
for isolating a utility in a congested area. The powerful 2 watt
transmitter drives the low frequency signal for long distances. The 850 is
impedance matching, meaning it matches the signal to the resistance of the
conductor maximizing power output and conserving battery life. A low frequency
(9.8kHz ) external small shaped transmitter is also available to be pushed down
non-metallic pipes or conduits and tracked with the 850 receiver giving its
depth and location.
Standard
Equipment: The 800 Series consists of a Transmitter, Receiver,
Conductive attachments, ground rod, ground plate, carrying case, and Operation
manual. A wall-mount battery charger comes with the Model 850 only. |
