Allied has developed a new generation of Underground Piercing Tools - the HH-79-  3.10" diameter

As part of Allied's trenchless underground variety of Hole Hogs, the new '79' has tremendous punching power.  This increased punching power means faster penetration speed as a result of its high energy, rapid percussion cycle and carefully designed length to diameter ratio.
VERSATILITY -The new generation 79 is versatile.  It has a standard threaded anvil and tail design to accept a wide range of accessories like Pulling Anvil Caps, Nose Covers, Plastic Pipe Pullers, Nose Expanders and Cable Puller Assemblies.  All of these accessories expand its capabilities, usefulness and cost - effectiveness.
PIPE PULLER- By the use of the 2" Pipe Pulling Adapter the Hole Hog Express pulls a flush mounted length of flexible PE pipe size tubing behind as it progresses. This pipe remains in the ground after the target trench is reached and is used as a sleeve that can be easily inserted with multiple water, gas, electric, cable TV, fiber optic or other types of lines.
ACCURACY-The 2" sleeve makes it easy to insert a tracing wire or electric sondes (transmitters) that can be traced by Pipe/Cable locators to monitor the direction, distance and length that the Hole Hog has achieved.
PRODUCTIVITY- If a large rock or other impassable object is encountered, the sleeve behind the Hole-Hog allows the air line to be easily turned 3/4 of a turn allowing the Hole-Hog to back out of the hole. The sleeve acts as a guide to reverse the tool and the flush mount keeps any soil or rocks from entering the back of the tool when it's exiting the hole. After removal the tool can be moved over a few feet and the 'shot' can be attempted again-increasing the chances of having a successful crossing even in difficult soil areas.
Unit shown has standard point.  Threaded Anvil (TH) formerly pn 831858 is available as an option.  The threaded anvil is replaceable.  It is used to pull back piping materials by placing the Hole Hog in reverse.

Moving through compressible soils up to four feet per minute, the pneumatically powered Hole Hog travels underneath obstructions such as roads, driveways, walkways, parking lots, runways and foundations without disturbing existing surface structures and landscaping.

As the Hole-Hog travels underneath these obstructions, it makes a clean compacted tunnels to receive your CATV cable, utility service lines, conduit or pipeline.  There is no need to disturb existing surface structures and landscaping with open-cuts, trenching or auguring.

In the event of impassable soil conditions, the new generation Hole-Hog has the patented Allied reverse mechanism.  Allied's positive locking three-quarter turn reverse not only permits easy change, but will not slip unexpectedly back into forward.

Puller adapter allows the sleeve to easily follow the Hole-Hog wherever it goes. The sleeve encases and protects the air supply line making it easy to stop and change direction if necessary. The air line cannot get hung up as it will with other brands of underground piercing tools.  When the Hole Hog reaches the target pit the hex flush mount bolts can be removed- the air line uncoupled- and the Hole Hog can be removed from the pit. The air line is pulled back through the sleeve and utility lines can now be installed in the Poly sleeve.

Anvil Caps Pulling Anvil cap is an option and must be included when ordering the unit and must be installed at the factory. This part comes as standard equipment when ordering the HH79-DX kit above. *Optional

#570618 is standard equipment when ordering the HH79-TH . It is factory mounted on the front of the Hole Hog and held in place by the pulling Anvil Cap. The Stepped Nose Cover is designed to push rocks and roots aside to allow the HH789 to move forward in a straighter line in rocky soil conditions. It also bears the brunt of abrasion and wear and is replaceable (at factory) increasing the overall life of the tool.
